In 2003, I was living in Tulsa, OK and Brad was in Iowa. We’d both been through another year of life experiences and Brad had some really great music ideas and lyrics. He came down to Tulsa, OK for a weekend so we could try to hash out some new tunes. The result was 2 finished songs and a bunch of unfinished songs. It was pretty disappointing, but what we ended up with was pretty good. They were the best recordings we’d ever done and I’m glad to have them.

The road block with finishing this album was that all these songs were deeply personal songs of Brad’s. They were his DNA and built on a ton of life experiences. He eventually created an album under the moniker Bye Scarlet and named that album “Vanity of Vanities” also.
